Reedsport to Port Orford with no view of the Ocean until PO
Today was designed to be a shorter and easier day with just 77 miles and only 3,000 ft of elevation gain! With bike troubles, we arrived no earlier at our overnight stay (sitting at a bike shop for 1 1/2 hours to get shifting corrected is not a lot of fun)! It is, however, very frustrating that; after I hit the road the shifting was worse than before! No bike shop here or at our next over night stop so hopefully the bike will behave for a couple days and then hopefully find a good mechanic to help me out!
The start this morning was colder about 47 degrees with low clouds and some mist! The first 1 1/2 hours went well except for my hands being too cold! Contrary to my normal mode of operation, I asked Mike to stop at McDonalds warm up and have some cocoa ! Mike kindly agreed! Our second stop was the bike shop!
All of the route was away from the ocean!
One picture of the sand dunes then nothing until the beautiful town of Port Orford! Sitting in a bar right now watching the tour and writing this blog!
The weather was gloomy until after 2:00 when the sun came out and warmed things up to about 70.

Strange to think that tomorrow's overnight will be in Crescent City CA. Two states down and one to go!
Looking forward to a little warmer weather and seeing the California beaches and the Redwoods!
Tomorrow we have one big climb.
Today we saw two big groups of 20 + riders one a youth group and one of adults! We thought we would see more small group riders!
