Lincoln City to Reedsport: 101 miles and 5,000 ft of climbing

I went for a short walk on the beach prior to Mike waking up and captured this picture of the morning sky! An indication of the incredible beauty we would see during our ride!

Morning sky in Lincoln City
Shortly after leaving Lincoln City we saw this pullout and couldn't resist the incredible view!
Seals sleeping in on their backs on cliff rocks!
Another incredible view on the way to Newport!
Newport bridge! Thankful not many cars during our crossing!
Three cyclists heading south were here enjoying the view! Couldn't resist the view!
I love those waves crashing into the rocky beach.
Light house across the bay!

It was a hard but beautiful day! Most climbing so far and close to tied with the longest distance! Very happy with our 15.6 mph! My favorite view was seeing the seals on the rocks! Even saw one squirming up on a higher rock, because the tide was coming in and disturbing his sleep! Saw a total of 12 cyclists today! All but two were camping on their way down the coast! The two riders moteling like us were from Seattle!! One was even wearing a Ramrod jersey! Strangely though he was a poor climber and was left quickly behind when we hit a climb! His partner rode with us for awhile but then he decided to wait for his partner! 2 1/2 hours after arriving in Reedsport, I saw them ride by our hotel! They looked real tired! I hope their hotel was in the next town! I was very grateful to be off the bike and eating and relaxing! The post ride routine each day is repeated with consistentcy! Shower, grab some food, rest a little and then head out to buy the drink and food for the next day! Wash our shorts and jersey and try and find a way to get them to dry! Head out for dinner and come back and watch the TDF while we organize things for the next day! I then find time to write the Blog! I enjoy reliving the day, looking at the pictures and sharing the days highlights with my family and friends! I hope you enjoy the log as much as I enjoy writing it! A special thanks to Mike Hassur for posting it every night !!! Well we are now 1/4 of the way to SB! I hope our good fortune continues ! Thanks for all your positive thoughts and prayers!!!
